What is Chem Concrete Hybrid Admixture?
The Hybrid Admixture is designed to improve concrete strength, durability, and mix efficiency while reducing cement use and the need for multiple admixtures. At dosages of 2–3 gallons per cubic yard, it can help ready-mix producers achieve 5,000 psi compressive strength at 28 days with up to 25–35% less cement, depending on the mix design and verified performance. Reported strength improvements are at least 20% per gallon dosed at 7 and 28 days, with greater gains during the first 72 hours. It also disrupts capillary pathways to reduce permeability and can potentially replace waterproofing, shrinkage-reducing, corrosion-inhibiting, and other admixtures, subject to compatibility and performance testing. Flexible dosing allows approximately 1 gallon per cubic yard for crystalline-type performance or up to 3 gallons for greater cement reduction, offering a path toward lower embodied carbon and supporting LEED v5 project goals, with an Environmental Product Declaration forthcoming.
