What is re-bind?
RE-BIND® is made from one simple ingredient: recycled hay baling twine. Baling twine is commonly used in agriculture to bind hay into compact bales, allowing it to be efficiently stacked, transported, and stored from the field to ranchers, dairies, and hay exporters.
After use, large amounts of baling twine are often discarded, burned, or sent to landfills. RE-BIND was created to give this material a second life by transforming it into a high-performance synthetic reinforcement fiber for concrete applications.
Through an innovative processing system, recycled twine is converted into engineered fibers designed to help improve concrete durability, reduce shrinkage cracking, and support long-term performance across a wide range of construction applications.
By connecting agriculture with modern construction materials, RE-BIND helps turn agricultural waste into a valuable resource while supporting more sustainable and responsible building practices.
The problem
Millions of pounds of agricultural plastic waste are generated each year from hay baling operations. Much of this material is difficult to recycle and often ends up burned, buried, or discarded. Re-Bind creates a circular solution by converting that waste into a valuable construction material.
Re-Bind has developed a localized collection network for recycled hay bale twine, helping reduce transportation impact while keeping agricultural plastic out of landfills. Collected material is transported using repurposed feed tote bags that are reused multiple times throughout our operations before being responsibly recycled at the end of their lifecycle. This closed-loop approach allows Re-Bind to minimize waste while maximizing sustainability across the entire collection process.
